Montreal’s Hot Springs has been busy finishing up its debut album- done dealing with “great meals” and “wonderful space,” now engaged in the laborous act of picking photos for the new album artwork and deciding on a label. With Giselle’s extraordinary voice and the band’s increased chemistry since the release of their last EP, the new tracks are sounding great.
According to the frontwoman half of her band grew up in the same town of Sorel-Tracy as half of Malajube. Both bands, who continue to play shows together, will be making an appearance in Brooklyn this summer. Malajube is scheduled to play with the Stills and The Sam Robers Band on July 30th at Prospect Park’s Bandshell, and Hot Springs has just announced a show with Austin’s Am Syndicate on July 6th August 3rd at Galapagos ($8), though they plan on trying to book more shows while they’re here.
