Hooves on the Turf

If you’ve ever taken note of Zooey Deschanel movies you’ve surely noticed that she often sings. These scenes are usually short, or have been in the pre-She-and-Him era, and having fondly watched these singing movie moments over the years, I’ve decided to collect them and share them here. Let’s wait and see just what kind of trouble that might get me into. Here’s the first of this collection.

This one’s taken from The Good Life, which was a pretty good movie, though you must be able to bear a creep and crawl of deep misery. There’re a few weak spots, though. Most of it is perhaps directorial, and some of it feels like the stuff has been just left in pieces, but overall it has some nice ideas and terrific actors, including Mark Webber who plays the troubled Jason. Worth watching, if you don’t mind a downer. Plus, Zooey’s character is particularly intriguing.
