I didn't know Mercer was in this band. I saw him play with a pretty big (numbers-wise) group in Athens during Popfest a few years ago. While he was playing drums, someone put a sweater over his head and he somehow managed to slip into it, arms and head emerging from their proper places. Slowly, beat by beat, he went from being more or less blindfolded by it to wearing it with no assistance. I play this out in my mind from time to time, and I don't really understand how it happened.
